250 ml of hot water
Gauze or cotton
Dissolve the salt in the water that you will previously heat to 80 degrees C. In this way you will get 8 % salt solution.
Fold the gauze (make sure it is sterilized and clean) in 8 layers getting a peace that would match the size of your forehead, ears and neck.
First of all, wash your forehead, neck, and ears with some warm water. Then soak the gauze into the salt solution that you previously prepared and squeeze so the excess will drop off. Carefully apply the gauze on your forehead, neck and ears. Try not to move a lot while having the gauze on, so it will stay in the places where you applied it. In that purpose, it is recommended that you lay down while having the gauze on.
After 5 to 6 minutes you will start feeling some kind of relieving, but you should not remove the gauze at this point. Instead, keep it there for 10 to 20 more minutes. After you remove it, rinse the treated places well with clean water.
The presence of salt in this remedy should not confuse you. Salt is not recommended for human consumption since it causes swelling and high blood pressure.
But compresses have a completely opposite effect – they affect the health condition through the skin only and stimulate elimination of the excess fluids from the whole body.
Accordingly, you can also treat swollen feet in the same way, by simply applying gauzes soaked in the same salt solution.
Keep in mind that antibiotics should not be an option for treating your pain. Even if this treatment doesn’t work, you can better make a research on other remedies of this kind before reaching for any kind of antibiotic.
